Wider opportunities for our Year 4 children!

All our Year 4 pupils have one hour per week of free guitar tuition from the Music Service, in school time, as part of the Wider Opportunities scheme. 

Each child in Year 4 is loaned a guitar by school, and the children are taught in class groups.   Some of our Year 5 and 6 children, who started learning the guitar in Year 4, are also continuing to have tuition. 

We are very pleased to be able to offer this scheme, and are sure that you will encourage your children to make the most of this wonderful opportunity to learn a musical instrument.

Who knows, we may have a budding Jimi Hendrix out there!

In addition to this, we also have specialists from the Music Service come into school for three days every week, to work with children across the age range.  Children also have the opportunity to learn to play the recorder, and we have a thriving, and very tuneful, choir!
