Our new Reception children are introduced gradually to the school.  Small groups start on alternate days until we reached our full quota of 25 pupils per Reception class.

I am very pleased to report that we usually have very few tears!  The children seem to enjoy their first taste of "big school" and are too busy making friends and getting to grips with their new school life to feel anxious or upset during those first weeks.

If any parents of new Reception children have concerns of any kind, please do not hesitate to come in and have a word with their class teacher, or Mrs Lowles, who is not only Deputy Head, but team leader for Early Years and Key Stage 1 as well.

We are here to help, and to make sure that your children settle in happily at Mount Pellon.

The Evening Courier photographer usually comes into school early in September to take class photos of all our new starters - I hope you enjoy seeing how smart they all look in their new uniforms!
