31 Oct 2005 - From the archives: Our efforts for the Asian Earthquake appeal
We featured in the Halifax Evening Courier twice in relation to our terrific fundraising effort for the Earthquake Appeal
(the total raised was £2286)
Ms Carol Barton, the manager of the Halifax Oxfam shop, said of our contribution:
"This is a phenomenal amount for children to raise. This is fabulous. It is the most we have received in one go so far."
Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to the appeal, and particularly to Mrs Butt and her helpers, who raised over £100 of the total amount by making delicious curries and selling them to the staff one lunchtime.
We have received a lovely thank you card from Oxfam, which was read out in assembly on 21 October. The card ends by saying:
"Your kind donation will help immensely our efforts to help people survive."
